About Our Team

Donna Kennedy Glans, Programming Advisor

DonnaK-G2011Donna Kennedy Glans is one of those powerful leaders who can translate vision into action in very complex environments and she has a resume to prove it. She is a mother, lawyer, volunteer, civic leader, the first female vice president at Nexen Inc., author, politician, social entrepreneur, global citizen and founder of two significant organizations: Bridges Social Development and Integrity Bridges Inc., both working on building capacity in different sectors. Her work with TEDxCalgary goes through a number of portfolios. She was even a speaker at our inaugural TEDxCalgary event in April 2010: she blew us away with her talk 'Wield Hope like an Axe' despite some serious technical difficulties (for which we are forever sorry!).

Working in a global environment, Donna is involved in a number of initiatives that are centered on making sure organizations from multinationals to local organizations and leaders understand their story and are working systemically to adaptively position themselves. She works with civic and government leaders all over the world, with an emphasis on Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Her work in supporting and developing leaders in the troubled corners of this world is notable. Her most recent projects have added significantly to the policy discussions around understanding de-radicalization of youth in the Middle East. She is a fierce pluralist and concerned about engagement as well as integrity in civic life.

Donna has been honored with numerous awards, most recently being named Global TV's Woman of Vision, and is a significant contributor to civic life. She lives in Calgary with her husband and three sons. Find out more about her work at http://integritybridges.com/

Rahim Sajan, Curator

To highlight Rahim's fundamental role in TEDxCalgary, we've borrowed from the TED lexicon and dubbed him our "Curator", a term of great respect. From many conversations with interested people, it was Rahim who ultimately took the final step toward securing an event licence and who continues to lead our overall efforts as an event team. Rahi
